Sex and porn addiction-related problems are increasingly being reported in clinical practice. Much controversy has surrounded the notion that sex can become addictive.
 
Two key moments in the field of addiction treatment have helped clarify this issue and inspire a variety of effective treatment approaches. In 2011, the American Society for Addiction Medicine issued a statement defining addiction as a chronic brain disease affecting reward, motivation, memory, and related functions. In 2020, the World Health Organization added Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (6C72 CSBD) to its ICD-11 Manual, recognizing it as a legitimate diagnosis. This presentation will offer the latest insights on diagnosing and treating porn and sex addiction, along with related ethical considerations.

Dr. Adams has been a licensed psychologist since 1981, faculty member with the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) and the clinical director and founder of Kenneth M.
